Craft Blades

craft blades for miniature kite making

Craft blades, snap blades, x-acto knives and razor blades are for the most part interchangeable. Use the one that you are most comfortable with. Some sail materials will cut easier with a blade than with scissors. Old-fashioned double-edged razor blades (the kind used in your grandfathers razor) are sharper then craft blades and work best for cutting thin Mylars, films and plastic wrap.

Tip of the week
1/16th inch hole punches work great for punching bridle holes in small kites.  Check the scrap-booking section of your local craft store to purchase one.
